Salomon Spitz founds a trading
company for spirits in Linz.
1935
Spitz acquires the Attnang-Puchheim production facility.
1949
The company begins to rebuild after the difficult years during the war. Walter Scherb I manages the locations on behalf of the owner, Viktor Spitz.
1953
Walter Scherb I purchases the company and develops an extensive product portfolio, opening up the entire Austrian market.
1973
Step-by-step expansion of the product palette to include jams, mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup and baked goods.
1982
Spitz once again expands the product range to include carbonated soft drinks.
1993
Spitz brings its own energy drink to the market
2005
Spitz Bio-Wärme supplies the production location with sustainable and environmentally friendly local heat and energy.
2006
Spitz establishes PET to PET Recycling Österreich GmbH, which enables ecological recycling of PET bottles.
2007
Spitz acquires the majority stake in Gasteiner mineral water.
2013
Spitz takes over the Lower Austrian confectionery manufacturer Auer-Blaschke.
2019
Spitz acquires the honey manufacturer Honigmayr from Salzburg.
2021
Alpine Brands is founded as a subsidiary of Spitz.
